Each year, the Arts Council offers a number of grant programs to artists and arts administrators. These grants enhance and support the development of quality arts performances, programs, professional development, services, exhibitions, and arts activities throughout central Indiana. Grant applications are adjudicated in an objective process that is free from conflicts of interest and assures fairness and professionalism.
Grants and Fellowships for individuals include:
- Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship Program -
- A two-year sabbatical-like fellowship for artists and administrators that have worked in the arts for 10 or more years. Award Amount: $10,000
- Robert D. Beckmann Jr. Emerging Artist Fellowship - A one-year fellowship for local emerging artists to jumpstart their career. Award Amount: $3,500
- DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award - A one-year project-based award for an established contemporary visual artist. Award Amount: $10,000
- Indy Keeps Creating Grants (Deadline August 22, 2021)
- Artist Restart Grant - To help artists restart their careers, covering the cost of tools, studio rentals, rehearsal spaces, submission fees, or other work-related costs. Award Amount: $1,000
- Wug Laku Mental Health & Wellness Grant - Provide access to mental health care for artists & arts administrators including, one-on-one therapy, support groups, art therapy, and wellness practices. Award Amount: $750 or $250
- Emergency (Catastrophic) Grants - An emergency grant for artists and arts & culture workers who have recently experienced a catastrophic event and need assistance. Award Amount: Determined based on application.
