Exhibition Proposal for Gallery 924

Artists interested in proposing a solo, two person, or group show for the gallery should visit the physical space during an exhibition to make sure your work is a good fit for the gallery. Then send the following via e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots.   • One-page document describing your proposed show - include the number of artworks you plan to show and why the work is appropriate for this gallery space.
  • Up to 20 images of past or current work. At least 5 of these images should be work that will be in the show. If the work is all in process, please describe the new work in detail as it relates to the images you are sharing with us. (Images sent via e-mail should be low resolution - 72dpi and less than 1MB each)
  • Image List: include title, date, medium, dimensions, and price or price range. Also include explanation of process or materials if appropriate.
  • Current artist resume (please make sure your full name, current residential address*, website, and e-mail address are all on this document or on the image list) *Artist must live or work within Marion or one of the seven surrounding counties if proposing a solo show.

Please be aware that Gallery 924 (Nine. Two. Four) shows contemporary work by artists living and/or working in greater Indianapolis. Past exhibited artwork has included 2D, 3D, digital, sound, light, interative, performance, and more. As a helpful guide, this site as well as our Facebook page documents previous shows and artwork accepted into the gallery. The gallery typically offers solo and two person show opportunities as well as two large group shows per year - June/July and December.  Any open calls to artists for group shows are listed on the Arts Council of Indianapolis site www.IndyArtsGuide.org. Please know that, other than the two group shows, the artists for the remainder of the calendar year are typically scheduled up to one year in advance. The internal selection committee, consisting of the Gallery Director and additional Indy Arts Council staff, reviews proposals quarterly.

If you are an emerging artist looking to gain experience and show your work in a public space, but do not yet have the show history to exhibit your work in a commercial gallery setting, please consider sending a proposal to the Indianapolis Artsgarden or other non-profit spaces. To propose a show at the Artsgarden, please make sure you are listed on the Arts Council's online Artist Directory then send a brief statement about your work and what you propose to put in the Artsgarden along with up to 10 images of current or past work and an image list (see above).
